Thai Red Shirt Protests and Crackdown

Political protest brought parts of Bangkok, Thailand to a standstill as protesters with the National United Front of Democracy Against Dictatorship, also known as "Red Shirts," shut the heart of the city from March to May 2010. There were sporadic clashes between the military and protests during the three-month span. On May 19, the Army moved in to break up the protests. More than 80 civilians and six soldiers were killed during the three-months of protest.
